Benjamin Wadsworth

Early Life and Background

Benjamin Hassan Wadsworth was born on November 8, 1999, in Houston, Texas. He is of diverse heritage, including Mexican, Iranian, English, Native American, French, and Swedish descent. Raised in Houston, Benjamin developed an early interest in acting, participating in school stage productions. To accommodate his burgeoning acting career, he was homeschooled during high school, allowing him to focus on film and video work. 

Acting Career

Benjamin began his acting career in 2013 with a role as Alex in the television series "More Than Human." He gained further experience by portraying Iggy in the comedy web series "Dad vs. Lad" from 2014 to 2017. In 2016, he was cast as Henry in the pilot for "Let the Right One In," a series adaptation of the vampire novel by John Ajvide Lindqvist; however, the pilot was not picked up by TNT. 

Benjamin made a notable appearance in the final episode of MTV's "Teen Wolf" in 2017, playing the character Alec. His breakthrough came in 2018 when he was cast as Marcus Lopez Arguello, the lead role in Syfy's series "Deadly Class." Initially auditioning for a different role, he was offered the lead after producers learned of his Latino heritage. His performance earned him a nomination for the Saturn Award for Best Performance by a Younger Actor in a Television Series. 

Beyond "Deadly Class," Benjamin appeared as Rocco Baxter in the Showtime series "Your Honor" (2020) and played Drew in Hulu's "Tell Me Lies" (2022). He also starred as Randall in the 2022 horror-comedy film "Unhuman." 

Personal Life

In May 2019, Benjamin became engaged to actress Stella Maeve after a year of dating. The couple welcomed their daughter, Jo Jezebel Wadsworth, in January 2020. As of 2024, Benjamin is in a relationship with Cait Pool.
